Farina Family, “trasparent” by nature

We were born in a family in which winemaking was a sort of inevitable legacy. However, before making this choice we wanted to experience other professional paths, sure that making wine is more than a job and to do it, it is necessary to be convinced to the very end. And when we chose to dedicate ourselves to this amazing world, we did it with absolute conviction, passion and love. Yes, love, because without strong feelings you can’t go a long way in the wine industry. Love in winemaking but also love in creating the right, true relationships, within the market. Love, that for us translates into transparency. Transparency in telling exactly what we do in the vineyard and in the winery, but also transparency in always being ourselves, convinced that the most important thing is to be trustworthy and, using a word that may appear obsolete now, honest. Claudio, Elena and Alessandro Farina.

The vineyards were our wines are born

Our wines are the result of 45 hectares of selected vineyards of Valpolicella Classica. Ten of which we own and 35 belonging to historic, trusted contributors, whom we’ve always considered our absolute “accomplices” in the production of our wines. We are dedicated with respect and spasmodic attention to our vineyards, because we believe that the attention to details allows a higher quality and the exploitation of a wonderful grape which is the Corvina. We have two historic vineyards, real crus of Valpolicella: the vineyard Montefante (300m a.s.l.), with its tuffaceous, clayey and calcareous soil and the excellent hilly exposure, it is an ideal habitat for the Corvina destined to our reserve Amarone Montefante; the other cru is the vineyard Montecorna , located on Mount Masua, characterized by an extraordinary calcareous soil, ideal for the production of the grapes dedicated to our Valpolicella Ripasso Montecorna.

Flip through our “BOOK”

In completing this book about our company we wondered about what we wanted to tell our “readers”. The answer came up spontaneously, simple: we had to tell, through photographs, what we are and how we interpret our deep passion for wine, in the most direct possible way, like when you meet real friends.

Our wine

The most important guarantee: our absolute and constant commitment.
It is never easy to describe the wines we produce, it is a little like speaking about our children. To produce wine, indeed, means to be open to the risks of nature, to the unpredictability of the seasons, but also trying to second, as much as possible, the vocation of a territory, the characteristics of a variety. We like to say that we “cradle” our grapes, from the queen of our land, the Corvina, like a child who needs all the care to grow to the best. There are years when things go very well and others maybe less, but what never fails is our absolute commitment, our constant dedication.

The wine cellar, where we exalt what the Vineyard gives us

The quality of wine is born in the vineyard , but it is equally true that nowadays the investment in technology in the cellar becomes critical to enhance the effort made in the vineyard . The grape harvested and selected in crates is put to dry in the traditional grapes-drying buildings called “fruttai”, where temperature and humidity are constantly monitored. Slavonian oak barrels and barriques nurse the maturation of our wines in their slow aging. We rely to a clever use of technology and wood, trying to combine innovation with naturalness and quality.

Winemaking and bottling up with innovation and modernity

To aim at creating noble wines that emphasize the grape varietal and the terroir, also means relying on the best technologies and cutting-edge research tools, both in winemaking as in bottling. Maximum speed, hygiene and safety are guaranteed in the route that accompanies our wine to the bottle, in order to obtain more healthy and long-lived products, in the right balance between respect for tradition and courage in innovation.

Reception, come and meet us in person

For us, relationships are the most important thing and we think that the best way to learn about what we do and to breathe the passion we put into our work, is to come visit us and do an hands-on experience.
We propose a journey that, starting from the vineyard and the scents of the soil, will make you savor the wisdom and the art of making wine in the cellar, and will end delighting your senses with the aromas and flavors of our wines tasted in the spectacular setting of the historic Dovecote.
